I followed the Olympic torch today starting on Squamish at 8:00am with it traveling up a loggers pole to start the day. I then saw it being run around Squamish, it ran right by my house and then i followed it up to Whistler where it ended for the day.
There is something about seeing the Olympic torch and being so close to it. The torch has traveled across the country stopping in so many communities and touching so many peoples lives. I tell you watching it on Friday and feeling all the spirit attached to the torch was amazing. I felt a sence of excitement, a sence of pride and most of all excited to welcome the world to our amazing country.I even got on the news Global!! but we were not able to see it on the west coast! But I do know that in the east you were able to see me and Zoe getting interviewed! "She may be a blind dog but she can feel the Olympic Spirit!"
I was even surprised in Whistler where so many people have been on the fence around to feel that excitement. i think having such a huge party up in Whistler and ending the relay that day in town changed the mind of many people. I saw people out cheering and screaming all night!! The beer I'm guessing helped, however the Olympic Sprint was ignited!!
