Olympics Ceremonies Opening (Dress Rehearsal)

I went to see the dress rehearsal of the opening ceremonies last night in Vancouver! All volunteers got free tickets and the ability to each buy one ticket each. So last night we gathered a crew together to go down and watch. People were selling there tickets for $250.00, but we were not going to give up this once in a life time event. We got to see the full show! All the musical acts plus the athlete’s parade. If was funny cause they had stand in volunteers for all the athletes, so some volleys were really getting into it waving and cheering. When the fake Canadian Team came in the crowd went crazy!!!! (that’s the one picture shhhh…) We were asked to keep everything a surprise, which I will. I don’t want to ruin the surprises for you! The one thing we did not get to see was the Olympic torch, and the lighting of the cauldron or the athletes vow’s, but everything else we got to see! It’s an amazing show, not over the top! But very Canadian! It will make you proud to be Canadian, and I’m guessing really put you in the Olympic spirit. There were many times throughout the night that I could not believe that I was enjoying this opportunity. To be at the opening of the Olympic games! Crazy!!! We hear that tickets for the real night on Friday are going for as high as $1000.00 nuts!!! As well there is huge talk about who is going to be the final torch barer! Everyone is saying Wayne number #99 and I think they are right! But how about the once that carry the torch in and around the stadium??? I’m thinking a few starts from the 88 Olympics like Brian Orser, Elizabeth Manly?? Or I may just be saying that cause I love ice-skating! All I know is when you are watching the show Friday night it’s going to be amazing!!! And you will feel proud to be Canadian!! Enjoy! I will be watching it in Whistler Village with a hundred of my closest friends.. heheh
